Fraser Island Self-Contained Units

Peaceful Family Accommodation In Happy Valley On K'gari

Discover Our Island Paradise

Fraser View comprises two self-contained units, each with two bedrooms.

Relax on the verandah watching the water and be soothed by the gentle sound of the surf. It’s just a short 150-metre stroll to the beach.

We are located in the second valley of Happy Valley, and benefit from being near the end of a no-through-road.

There’s lots of room for kids to play while you enjoy the peace and quiet with very few vehicles passing. And now with the Dingo fence surrounding the township it’s safe for all ages.

While each unit is fully self-contained, Fraser View lends itself to two families. On the ocean side verandah there is enough room to eat as a large group and then retreat to your own private space within each unit.

Our Solar Power System provides 24-hour power and light. There is generator backup but that rarely is needed and so it’s very peaceful.

Fraser View is located in Second Valley of Happy Valley on the Eastern side of Fraser Island and is only 150 metres to the beach. It is the perfect central location to access all of the attractions and features of beautiful World Heritage Listed Fraser Island.

Fraser View comprises only two units, was renovated in 2011, and has a modern open style.

UNIT 1

Fraser View Unit 1 is fully self-contained.

Unit 1 has two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom, the dormitory, has a queen bed and two sets of single offset bunk beds so this room offers beds for six people. There is also at least one trundle bed in addition. The bunks are designed so that the head of the person on the lower bunk is not below the upper bunk.

UNIT 2

Fraser View Unit 2 is fully self-contained.

Unit 2 has two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has one set of single bunk beds, offset so that the head of the person on the lower bunk is not below the upper bunk. There is also a fold-out futon couch in the living area.

On the ocean side, there is a covered verandah with a dining table and chairs. There is also a large covered area on the western side with the gas barbecue and a dining table for those times when the south easterly is blowing.

Fraser View consists of two units and is an ideal property for two families. The separate units allow privacy for each family whilst allowing the two families to share meals together on either the verandah on the ocean side or the covered area adjoining the barbecue.

Being Fraser Island, power is supplied by a solar system that charges batteries, providing 24-hour power through an inverter. This does limit what appliances can be operated. The power system will run chargers for laptops, cameras, and the lik,e but please do not bring hair dryers.

Linen is not supplied, and most guests choose to bring their own linen. We do require that linen must be used. We define linen as two sheets and pillow cases, and does not include sleeping bags. Linen can be hired by prior arrangement through the Fraser Island Retreat. Hired linen is collected with the house keys. Failure to use linen causes us to incur substantial additional costs, which will be backcharged to the tenant. We also reserve the right to cancel a booking that does not use linen.

There are pillows and blankets supplied.

Fraser View is in the small community of Happy Valley, which has limited resources. Guests are required to leave the house clean. To assist this, cleaning materials are supplied. Failure to leave the house clean will result in an additional charge to the responsible guest.

The calendar is kept up to date as best we can. When an enquiry for a booking is sent, we aim to respond quickly and once the booking is confirmed by payment of the deposit, the dates requested are locked into the calendar. We require a deposit within 7 days to confirm the booking. The normal deposit is 50%.
Bookings through Stayz meet this requirement.
Additional time to pay can be made by prior arrangement with the owners. Balance is payable 4 weeks prior to arrival.

Bookings through Stayz are subject to the Stayz Cancellation Policy.
However where impacted by border closures, or island closures such as during the Covid lockdown and bushfires in 2020, full refunds are provided.

Remember

Linen is NOT supplied – you will need to to bring linen to suit the beds you will be using. Sleeping bags are NOT allowed.

Limited food is available at the general store in Happy Valley.  We recommend that you bring the majority of your food requirements with you.

Please leave Fraser View as you found it. On your departure you will need to ensure that all dishes are washed, the stove and BBQ are clean and the unit is tidy.

Fraser is a sand island so a reliable 4WD vehicle is needed for access. A vehicle permit is also required and can be purchased in online or at Rainbow Beach – contact parks.qld.gov.au for rates and details and to book online.
